I recently had the opportunity to scout an undisclosed location for the purposes of shooting photography and videography there. I used the Insta360 Nano to scout it with, and bring back VR photos for my team to see the place in all its glory. This is a quick review of that camera in the context of scouting locations.
Finding the place perfect for our needs I did a quick walkthrough with the Insta 360 Nano
and grabbed a 360VR photo in each room. I processed the images in lightroom and uploaded to Kuula.co
Spherical VR enables capturing a space in its relative glory.
I modified this micro tripod to hold the Insta360 Nano and put the nano on a timer to take each shot when I was out of the room. (Tech note: The timer has a glitch in that it goes off about 3 seconds earlier than the flashing light indicates it does. The Insta360 team is very responsive to consumer needs, so I am expecting that will be cured swiftly. ) Note, the tripod mount that comes with this tripod is exactly the correct width to hold the Nano. I simply removed the two screws, remove the sliding spring plate, scored the back plate at the bottom corner and removed it. See photos and video at bottom for more detail.).
Here are a few resultant shots:
Score backplate at corner.

Bend Backplate at corner to break it off.
